Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom is an award winning multi-cultural, multi-purpose visitor and community hub in Foxton that hosts over 150,000 users each year. It was created through an innovative partnership between Horowhenua District Council, Te Taitoa Māori o Te Awahou Trust and the Dutch Connection Museum Trust. Third Bearing undertook the initial feasibility study to assess the options available to achieve the objectives of the project, and to establish a sustainable business plan. A more specific feasibility study was also undertaken for the Piriharakeke Inspiration Generation Centre component of the development. Both feasibility studies were important parts of a successful fundraising strategy.
