West Coast Economic Development Arrangements Review

Having successfully secured funding for the Tai Poutini West Coast Growth Study, the West Coast Regional Growth Study Governance Group commissioned Third Bearing to help improve effectiveness of its economic development functions. Existing arrangements were seen as fragmented, with limited delivery of some economic development functions. Completed under tight timeframes whilst still ensuring engagement from Westport down to Haast, the review identified the most effective and efficient delivery model for economic development services on the West Coast. Third Bearing’s recommendations were endorsed by West Coast Mayors and Councillors together with the Trustees of Development West Coast (DWC).
