PNCC Building Consent Authority Accreditation Project Management

In response to the Building Act 2004 Palmerston North City Council initiated a project to become registered as a Building Consent Authority. To achieve accreditation PNCC required to redesign most of its work processes, procedures, forms and related documentation and undertake staff development to operate effectively in a changed environment. Third Bearing was engaged to manage the project which was also to act as a process improvement and change management exercise. The outcome was a successfully completed project and PNCC becoming an exemplar by becoming the first Building Consent Authority registered in New Zealand.
